Registration
The registration process is made up of 2 parts:
- Complete a registration form
- Sign an online waiver
If you are under the age of 18 you will need your parent or guardian to sign the waiver so please ask them to join you at your computer
Once you have completed the registration section you will have a Ref Centre student account. Please make note of your email address and password, these credentials will be required each time you log into Ref Centre.
Payment
Instructions for the payment process for your course will be displayed on your Ref Centre account. Please follow these instructions as soon as possible. You will not be able to start the course until your payment has been approved.
Self-Guided Modules
This part of the course is 7 online self-guided law based modules. Each module has a video to watch followed by some questions for you to answer. It is expected that the online modules will take you between 4 and 7 hours to complete. The Self Guided Modules will be available for a minimum of 7 days prior to the webinar date.
The self-guided modules must be completed prior to attending your webinar. Note that the modules are for the Entry Level course only, NOT MINI.
Classroom & Practical
Entry Level Course – this part of the course is a 3-hour classroom session and a 3 hour onfield practical session.
Mini Course – this part of the course is a 2-hour classroom session and a 2 hour onfield practical session
Online Exam
The exam is open book and it has 75 questions. Once you begin the exam, you will have 1 hour to complete the exam. Please note that you will not be able to start the exam until you have completed the self guided modules and been marked as attended for the in-person session. An exam score of 66% is required to proceed to the next stage of the course. If you are unsuccessful with the exam you will have an opportunity to resit it 2 days after your first attempt.
Graduation
Prior to graduation you will required to answer a short questionnaire in which you tell us your opinion of the course.
You then enter the final step of your course, the graduation. This is where you can print out your certificate of graduation and your Ref Centre student account is converted to referee account.
